Adenostoma is a genus of shrubs with only two species, Adenostoma fasciculatum (Chamise) and Adenostoma sparsifolium (Red shank). Both of the species are native to California of the United States, and Baja California of Mexico. A. fasciculatum is also found in the Sierra Nevada of the United States.

Both species have stiff, linear leaves arranged in clusters on stems or bark. Flowers are cream to white, and have hypanthia.
