Rubus arcticus, or the arctic raspberry is a species of bramble found in the Rosaceae family. The dark red fruit is an edible delicacy, and despite its name, R. arcticus isn't a raspberry plant. The plant grows in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Russia, Estonia, and parts of North America such as Alaska and Canada.

The fruit is a small red berry that can withstand the cold of the north.

UsesEdit

The berry is considered tasty, and is used to make jam, liqueur, and to flavor tea. It is used as one of the ingredients in the Smirnoff vodka. It is the provincial plant of Norrbotten in Sweden.
